milestones

It's not often these days that we fill this space with many words or any actual writing, so if we do it's bound to be awfully important, and this is one such occasion.  We'd like to a moment to make note of a couple of milestones we passed recently, before we get back to the corny jokes, Bible quotes, and pictures of female genitalia.

This month marks the five year anniversary of this blog. The first post was on Monday, May 4, 2009.  Since then, this blog has evolved into the structured, daily publication that it is now.  Since 2012 we've published at least one post a day, with some regular features on certain days of the week.  And over time it has become a sizable archive of certain types of material, one of the most useful of which is the index of photos listed under "ladies" in the side bar to the right.

We never expected, or even set out, to be popular.  Nevertheless, like any blogger, we did hope to attract at least a few readers or even the attention of some audience.  Otherwise, you might as well be writing in a journal.  Surprisingly enough, over the years this site has proven to be somewhat popular.  Which brings us to another milestone:  the site recently passed 500,000 visits.

So we'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who's ever stopped by our little corner of cyberspace over the years, especially those who came back more than once or with any regularity.  Our first goal has always been to entertain ourselves, and to maybe entertain someone else in the process.  If you're one of those someone's who's ever gotten the joke, well then, hello, and thanks. I hope you'll continue to stop by.
